UA:PBC, the Ukrainian national broadcaster, has confirmed that they will participate in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2020.
Ukraine will make their 15th appearance in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest this year. Details about how the Ukrainian entry will be selected have yet to be announced. On their past two appearances, an online national final was used, in which a jury of music professionals selected the winner.
Sophia Ivanko represented Ukraine last year in Gliwice with her self-composed entry “The Spirit of Music”. She finished 15th with 59 points.
Junior Eurovision 2020 is to be held on November 29 in the Polish capital of Warsaw. The competition is being hosted by the Polish public broadcaster TVP, after Viki Gabor took victory with the song “Superhero”. The show will be staged in a TV studio facility in Warsaw, not a large arena as has been seen in previous years.
