The Polish capital of Warsaw is set to host the 2020 edition of Junior Eurovision Song Contest.
Junior Eurovision 2020 will be held on November 29 in the Polish capital, Warsaw. The competition is being hosted by the Polish public broadcaster TVP, after Viki Gabor took victory with the song “Superhero”.
The competition will be staged in a TV studio facility in Warsaw, not a large arena as has been seen in previous years. The European Broadcasting Union explained that they are mapping out the impact of COVID-19 and are working to ensure that “the 2020 Contest can take place in circumstances that protect the health and safety of everyone attending the event.”
Martin Österdahl EBU Executive Supervisor of the Eurovision Song Contest and Junior Eurovision Song Contest commented:
I couldn’t be more excited to be working with the incredible team at TVP on my first Junior Eurovision Song Contest. They have the skills, creativity and enthusiasm to produce a fantastic show. It’s never been more important to recognize the power of young people to “Move The World” and I’m looking forward to seeing all the talented singers perform later this year.
Maciej Łopiński, Acting President of TVP added:
Big musical projects, such as the Junior Eurovision Song Contest, have great value, because they bring optimism and hope. The slogan of this year’s Junior Eurovision, ‘Move the World’, underlines the necessity of taking positive actions for the common good. One such action is the Junior Eurovision Song Contest. I am glad that TVP, after the success of last year’s edition, was chosen again as the host and organizer of this incredible musical event.
