The Head of Delegation for France has announced that France Televisions intends to participate in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2020.
Speaking to Programme TV, Head of Delegation Alexandra Redde-Amiel has confirmed that France Televisions intends to participate in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2020. France brings the number of countries that have stated their intention to compete to seven.
To date, the following countries have confirmed participation in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2020 in Poland:
It is currently not known whether the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2020 will take place. Poland is set to host the competition for a second year running this November. However to date neither TVP or the European Broadcasting Union have announced the host city, venue or date of the competition.
This year the European Broadcasting Union has cancelled the Eurovision Song Contest 2020 due to the coronavirus outbreak. Eurovision Young Musicians 2020, which was due to be held in Zagreb, Croatia this June has also been delayed.
At the 2019 contest, France were represented by Carla with the song “Bim Bam Toi”. Eventually the country finished in 5th place with 169 points. This marks their second best result following last year when they finished 2nd with “Jamais sans toi” by Angelina.
