Greek media reports that Eleni Foureria will be featuring as part of Eurovision: Europe Shine a Light on May 16.
Media in Greece is reporting that Eleni Foureria the runner up of Eurovision 2018 will be featuring in Eurovision: Europe Shine a Light. The singer who represented Cyprus with “Fuego” is to be among a number of past Eurovision acts to feature during the show on May 16.
Since participating in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2018, Eleni has gone on to be a fan favourite. In 2019 she featured in the interval of the Grand Final of the Eurovision Song Contest performing “Dancing Lasha Tumbai” by Verka Serduchka.
To date the following acts have been reported as featuring in the show alongside the participants of Eurovision 2020:
- 2005 – Greece – Helena Paparizou – My Number One – Winner
- 2007 – Serbia – Marija Šerifović – Moltiva – Winner
- 2011 – Azerbaijan – Ell & Nikki – Running Scared – Winner
- 2018 – Cyprus – Eleni Foureria – Fuego – 2nd
Eurovision: Europe Shine a Light will be broadcast live across Europe on May 16 hosted by Chantal Janzen, Edsilia Rombley and Jan Smit. The show will pay tribute to the forty one acts who had been due to compete in Eurovision 2020 and feature past Eurovision participants. The show will also look at the people of Europe affected by the coronavirus and aid workers who are fighting this crisis.

Cyprus debuted in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1981. Their best result in the contest comes from their 2018 entrant Eleni Foureira, who placed 2nd with her song “Fuego”. Cyprus withdrew from the Eurovision Song Contest in 2014 due to financial difficulties, but returned again in 2015 where they were represented by John Karagiannis.
