VRT and Česká televize are the latest public broadcasters to confirm that they will be airing Eurovision: Europe Shine a Light.
Belgium and the Czech Republic join a list of thirteen countries where Eurovision: Europe Shine a Light will be broadcast live to viewers. VRT the Flemish broadcaster confirmed that it will be broadcasting the show live from Hilversum on Eén with commentary provided by radio presenter Peter Van de Veire.
In the Czech Republic, Česká televize has opted to broadcast the show live but on a secondary channel compared to normal Eurovision Song Contest broadcasts. CT art will be broadcasting the show, the channel broadcast the semi-finals of Eurovision 2015 and the Czech Republic’s participation in Eurovision Young Dancers and Young Musicians.
Eurovision: Europe Shine a Light will be broadcast live across Europe on May 16 hosted by Chantal Janzen, Edsilia Rombley and Jan Smit. The show will pay tribute to the forty one acts who had been due to compete in Eurovision 2020 and feature past Eurovision participants. The show will also look at the people of Europe affected by the coronavirus and aid workers who are fighting this crisis.
