Hilversum will be the venue for the Eurovision: Europe Shine a Light, the home of Dutch radio and television.
Studio 21 in Hilversum has been confirmed as the venue from which Eurovision: Europe Shine a Light will be broadcast across Europe. Hilversum is known as the home of Dutch television and radio with the town the base location for a number of the Netherlands public broadcasters.
Hilversum will be known to Eurovision fans as the location from which the Dutch jury reveals its points. Furthermore the city hosted the 1958 Eurovision Song Contest when the Netherlands first played host to the competition. The Netherlands was the first country to host the contest following their victory at the previous years contest, a tradition that has continued ever since.
Eurovision: Europe Shine a Light will be broadcast live across Europe on May 16 hosted by Chantal Janzen, Edsilia Rombley and Jan Smit. The show will pay tribute to the fourty one acts who had been due to compete in Eurovision 2020 and feature past Eurovision participants. The show will also look at the people of Europe affected by the coronavirus and aid workers who are fighting this crisis.
