The Opening Ceremony for the Eurovision Song Contest 2020 is set to take place at the Rotterdam Cruise Terminal.
The Rotterdam Cruise Terminal has been confirmed as the venue for the Opening Ceremony of the Eurovision Song Contest 2020. The forty-one participants will be welcomed to the Cruise Terminal on a circular golden carpet before meeting the assembled press.
The Cruise Terminal is located at Wilhelminapier and served Holland America Line. Jelmar van der Wel of the Cruise Terminal commented:
It is a beautiful place with a unique view and it has many special stories. Of course an arrival place for international visitors to the city and in addition, legendary events have been organized for years. We are going to make it a spectacular opening, which will do our beautiful city justice.
The Opening Ceremony will take place on May 10 and will be broadcast online by Eurovision.tv
The Eurovision Song Contest 2020 takes place in the Ahoy Arena in Rotterdam on the May 12, 14 and 16. The Netherlands won the right to host the competition following their win in 2019 with Duncan Laurence and the song “Arcade”.
