Today Azerbaijan will reveal its song for Eurovision 2020 while Croatia looks towards Eurovision Young Musicians.
The Eurovision 2020 season continues today as the final nations reveal their songs for Rotterdam, Azerbaijan will bring us their song for the Netherlands this morning. While Eurovision Young Musicians sees the first televised selection of the year with the host nation of Croatia selecting their participant.
Azerbaijan – Song Reveal
Today Azerbaijan will reveal the song that Samira Efendi will be performing at the 2020 Eurovision Song Contest. Two songs are reportedly in the running to represent Azerbaijan in Rotterdam, they are “Scars into stars” and “Cleopatra”.
Samira Efendi will represent the nation at this year’s Eurovision Song Contest. The singer was internally selected by the broadcaster out of five artists:
- Samira Efendi
- Laman Dadasheva
- Elvin Novruzov
- Jabrail Rasulov
- Riad Abdulov
Croatia – Eurovision Young Musicians Selection – 18:00 CET
Eight young musicians will be competing this evening in Zagreb to represent Croatia on home soil at Eurovision Young Musicians 2020.
The HRT studios play host to the final of the Croatian selection process for Eurovision Young Musicians 2020. The host nation of this years contest will be selecting its entrant for the competition in Zagreb this June. The eight finalists performing this evening are:
- Vanesa Ilicic (18) – Guitar
- Marko Matajič (18) – Piano
- Lucia Musac (20) – Cello
- Mia Pecnik (20) – Piano
- Ivan Petrovic-Poljak (16) – Piano
- Luka Relić (19) – Saxophone
- Leonardo Rojnic (17) – Accordion
- Frank Strbac (18) – Percussion
The musicians will be performing with Tomislav Fačini’s HRT Symphony Orchestra. The winner of the selection will be chosen entirely by jury voting, on the jury are:
- Tamara Coha Mandic – flute
- Sara Glojnaric – composer
- Ivana Bilic – percussion
- Marco Graziani -violin
- Pavao Masic – organ, cymbal
