Ana Soklič will represent Slovenia at this year’s Eurovision Song Contest in Rotterdam, The Netherlands with the song “Voda”.
This evening the Final of EMA 2020 took place in Ljubljana, hosted by Klemen Slakojna. Twelve artists took part in the competition, and they are:
- Ana Soklič – Voda
- Božidar Wolfand Wolf – Maybe Someday
- Gaja Prestor – Verjamem vase
- Imset – Femme Fatale
- Inmate – The Salt
- Klara Jazbec – Stop the World
- Lina Kuduzović – Man Like U
- Manca Berlec – Večnost
- Simon Vadnjal – Nisi sam
- Tinkara Kovač – Forever
- Saška – Še kar lovim tvoj nasmeh
- Parvani Violet – Cupid
A three-member jury chose two of the twelve competing acts to advance to the super final. The two acts were:
- Ana Soklič
- Lina Kuduzović
The public vote then decided which of the two super finalists will go on to represent Slovenia in Rotterdam.
Ana Soklič will represent Slovenia in Rotterdam with the Song “Voda” in the first semi-final on Tuesday 12 May 2020.

Slovenia was one of three countries to join the Eurovision Song Contest in 1993. The country qualified through a specially organised selection round called “Kvalifikacija za Millstreet” which was hosted in Slovenia, seven countries competed for three spots in Eurovision 1993. The country has participated in 22 editions of the Eurovision Song Contest. Their best result came in 1995 when Darja Švajger finished 7th scoring a total of 84 points, she is closely followed by Nuša Derenda who finished 7th in the 2001 contest with 70 points.
