The full results of Pabandom iš naujo have been recalculated after it has been determined that over 24,000 votes were not counted due to technical issues.
LRT has released revised voting results for the final of Pabandom iš naujo, after it was confirmed by TCG Telecom that over 24,000 SMS votes were not calculated on Saturday night. The Telecoms company explained that due to a high number of votes, a large number of valid votes were not received when the televote was calculated. A spokesperson commented:
We confirm that there were technical problems during the voting and that some senders reached the SMS system after the voting was stopped. We apologise for these issues. We are currently investigating with mobile operators the reason for the delay in SMS delivery to our system so that such unpleasant incidents do not happen again in the future,
The revised votes mean that a total of 84,884 votes were cast during the national final, with The Roop having won with over 50,000 votes received. The revised results are (Announced + revised):
- The Roop – 34,5858 + 15,554 – 50,139 votes
- Monique – 10,336 + 5596 – 15,962 votes
- Aistė Pilvelytė – 6,479 + 891 – 7,370 votes
- Monika Marija – 5,439 + 1,131 – 6,570 votes
- Rūta Loop – 1,528 + 338 – 1,866 votes
- KaYra – 1,109 + 199 – 1,308 votes
- The Backs – 682 + 284 – 966 votes
- MEANDI – 467 + 236 – 703 votes
A total of 60,665 votes were counted during the live broadcast, with an additional 24,229 votes now also included.
Lithuania debuted in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1994, however on their debut they finished in last place with nul points. Lithuania didn’t return to the contest until 1999 when Aiste finished 20th with the song “Strazdas”. Lithuania’s best result came in 2006 when LT United performed “We Are The Winners”; they finished 6th in the final with a total of 162 points. Lithuania’s only other top 10 finish came in 2016 when Donny Montell performed “I’ve Been Waiting For This Night” in Stockholm, he received 12 points from the public in Ireland, Norway & United Kingdom.
