Ljiljana Petrović who was the first singer to represent Yugoslavia at the Eurovision Song Contest has passed away aged 81.
The first singer to represent Yugoslavia at the Eurovision Song Contest has passed away at the age of 81. Ljiljana Petrović represented Yugoslavia at the Eurovision Song Contest in 1965 with the song ‘Neke davne zvezda’. The singer who had been unknown up until the contest finished 8th with a total of 9 points.
Ljiljana Petrović went on to perform in festivals across Yugoslavia and was actively involved in the music industry up until 1980. In 1989 she turned to writing Haiku’s and recited them on national television in Yugoslavia.
