Erika Vikman has released her entry for Uuden Musikiin Kilpailu (UMK) 2020 today.
Finnish broadcaster YLE has released the second of its six competing entries in UMK 2020, their Eurovision selection show. One entry will be released every Monday leading up to the live final.
Listen to Erika’s song “Cicciolina” below:
Erika’s song is the first UMK entry since 2017 to be completely in Finnish.
The six artists competing in UMK 2020 are:
- Tika – I Let My Heart Break
- Erika Vikman – Cicciolina
- Aksel Kankaanranta – Looking Back
- F3M – Bananas
- Sansa – Lover View
- Catharina Zühlke – Eternity
UMK 2020 will be held on March 7 at the Mediapolis Studio in Tampere. This is the first time since the 2017 contest that Finland has opened UMK back up to any interested singers and songwriters. Yle had opted to internally select their singer for Eurovision, and then use UMK as a song selection show.
Hosting the show once again will be Krista Siegfrids, who represented Finland at the 2013 Eurovision Song Contest with her song “Marry Me”. Since then, she has participated in Sweden’s selection show Melodifestivalen two times, and has hosted UMK every year since 2016.
