Eurovision 2017 winner Salvador Sobral has revealed that he is staring in ‘Eurovision: The Movie’ which will be released later this year.
Portuguese Eurovision winner Salvador Sobral revealed on RTP today, that he is staring in ‘Eurovision: The Move’. The singer who won the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest in Kyiv, Ukraine was invited to be part of the film. He traveled to Edinburgh, United Kingdom to film a scene in which he plays a street musician.
The film which will be released this years follows Icelandic singers Lars Erickssong and Sigrit Ericksdottir as they represent Iceland at the Eurovision Song Contest.
Will Ferrell, Piers Brosnan, Demi Lovato and Rachel McAdams are among the big stars to be acting in the film. Filming for the Eurovision movie has been underway for the past two years, with Netflix filming scenes in Husavik, Iceland last year.

Portugal debuted in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1964 represented by Antonio Calvario, the country finished last scoring nul points. Prior to 2016, the best result of Portugal was 6th place which came in 1996 when Lucia Moniz performed in Oslo. She scored 92 points, receiving the 12 points from both Norway and Cyprus. Since their debut, Portugal have missed a total of five contests. In 2017, Portugal produced a spectacular win when Salvador Sobral took home the crystal microphone with his song “Amar Pelos Dois.” The 2018 contest was held in Lisbon, Portugal for the first time.
