Eric van Tijn, the Musical Director for Eurovision 2020, has confirmed only Dutch acts will be performing during the intervals at the contest.
The Musical Director for the Eurovision Song Contest 2020 has confirmed to Nu.nl that only Dutch artists will be featured as interval acts at this years contest. Mr van Tijn ruled out a guest appearance by an international artist as took place in 2019 when Madonna performed during the Final in Tel Aviv, Israel. He commented regarding Dutch artists that:
As far as I’m concerned, they are also of a world level. But of course I can’t name names yet.
As is tradition the Musical Director confirmed that last years winner Duncan Laurence will perform during the contest. Adding that:
The winner of the previous edition always acts. But what Duncan is going to do is not an ordinary performance: we are going to make something very special out of it.
The Eurovision Song Contest 2020 takes place in the Ahoy Arena in Rotterdam, The Netherlands on the 12th, 14th and 16th of May. The Netherlands won the right to host the competition following their win in 2019 with Duncan Laurence and the song “Arcade”.
