All of the acts who have represented the Netherlands at the Eurovision Song Contest are to be invited to the Grand Final of Eurovision 2020.
The Head of the NPO Board of Directors Shula Rijxman, has announced that the broadcaster is inviting all of the Netherlands former Eurovision participants to the Grand Final of the contest in Rotterdam. She said in a statement that:
The 65th Eurovision Song Contest in Rotterdam this year is an absolute highlight for the public broadcaster. For this special Dutch edition, we invite all Dutch former participants who are still among us to be there: from Lenny Kuhr to the Toppers. And from Anouk to Teach-In. Our national music history under one roof at the grand finale of “our” song festival.
Executive Producer of the 2020 contest Sietse Bakker added:
With this edition of the Eurovision Song Contest we celebrate, in addition to everything that the Netherlands has to offer in 2020, also 65 years of song festival legacy. It is therefore only logical for us to honor all former Dutch participants by inviting them to celebrate this with us.
It is not known whether the invitation means that the artists will just be in the audience for the Grand Final, or whether they will play a role as part of the show.
The Eurovision Song Contest 2020 takes place in the Ahoy Arena in Rotterdam, The Netherlands on the 12th, 14th and 16th of May. The Netherlands won the right to host the competition following their win in 2019 with Duncan Laurence and the song “Arcade”.
