ERR has confirmed to Eurofestivales that Estonia will not be participating in Eurovision Young Musicians 2020.
The Estonian national broadcaster has confirmed to Eurofestivales that they will not be participating in Eurovision Young Musicians 2020. The Head of Programming at ERR confirmed that the decision was taken due to limited financial resources available at the broadcaster.
Estonia had returned to Eurovision Young Musicians in 2018, having last participated in the competition in 2004. Tanel-Eiko Novikov represented Estonia at Eurovision Young Musicians 2018. Tanel-Eiko failed to qualify for the final of the competition, being one of the 12 musicians that was knocked out at the semi-final stage.
Eurovision Young Musicians 2020
The 20th installment of Eurovision Young Musicians will take place next year in the Croatian capital Zagreb. The competition is set to take place on an open-air stage in King Tomislav Square with the grand final on the June 21 2020. This will be the first Eurovision event to be held in an independent Croatia. The Eurovision Song Contest was held in Zagreb in 1990, when Croatia was part of Yugoslavia.
