A total of 1,347 applications were received from across the Netherlands from groups to be part of a postcard for Eurovision 2020.
AD.nl reports that 1,347 applications were received from clubs, choirs, orchestras, sports teams and volunteer organisations to be part of a postcard for Eurovision 2020. South Holland saw the most individual applications received with a total of 414 applications.
AVROTROS has stated that they are very pleased with the array of applications that they have received. A group will now go through and assess all of the submissions and then select a number of groups to visit. Filming will take place with a large number of groups, but none will be told now whether they will feature in the Eurovision Song Contest.
The Eurovision Song Contest 2020 takes place in the Ahoy Arena in Rotterdam, The Netherlands on the 12th, 14th and 16th of May. The Netherlands won the right to host the competition following their win in 2019 with Duncan Laurence and the song “Arcade”.
