Ahead of the reveal of the artists for Semi-Final Two, NRK has announced that Anna Jæger will be competing in the next show.
esc Norge reports that Anna Jæger will be among the four acts competing for a place in the final of Melodi Grand Prix next weekend. The site reports that NRK revealed the name during a broadcast earlier today.
Anna will be known to Norwegian audiences having competed in The Voice Norway in 2017. She grew up in Canada and the United States and says that her upbringing has influenced her style of music. She describes her music as electro-pop.
The final of Melodi Grand Prix 2020 will be held in Trondheim Spektrum on February 15. This will only be the third time in history that the final of Melodi Grand Prix has been held outside of Oslo. The schedule for the competition is as follows:
- Show 2 – 4 songs compete from Eastern Norway
- Show 3 – 4 songs compete from Central Norway
- Show 4 – 4 songs compete from Western Norway
- Show 5 – 4 songs compete from Northern Norway
- Final – 1 qualifier from each show joins the five pre-qualified acts make up the final 10

Norway debuted in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1960, and have won the contest three times – in 1985, 1995 and 2009. The country has the dubious record of finishing last the most times, eleven in total, and have received nul points four times. Norway last won the contest in 2009 when Alexander Rybak broke all records with his song “Fairytale”. He scored 387 points in the final, receiving 16 sets of 12 points and scoring points from every country.
