Tonight sees Lithuania and Norway begin their selection shows for the 2020 Eurovision Song Contest in Rotterdam.
This evening the Eurovision season recommences with Lithuania and Norway commencing there search for Rotterdam. The first heat of Melodi Grand Prix takes place, while a revamped Pabandom iš naujo is broadcast.
Norway – Melodi Grand Prix – Semi-Final One – 19:50 CET
The first semi-final of Melodi Grand Prix 2020 takes place this evening, with four artists from southern Norway competing.
Melodi Grand Prix returns to television screens this evening, with this years contest celebrating 60 years of Norway’s participation in the Eurovision Song Contest. Tonight’s contest is the first of five Semi-Finals featuring artists from different regions of Norway.

The four acts competing this evening are:
- Kim Rysstad – “Rainbow”
- Raylee – “Wild”
- Geirmund – “Come Alive”
- Lisa Børud – “Talking About Us”
The four acts will be drawn into two duels live on stage, from each duel one winner will be crowned. The winners of each duel will then meet in the ‘Gold Duel’ with the winner going to the final of Melodi Grand Prix 2020 on February 15. The results will be entirely determined by online voting.
Sondrey who has pre-qualified for the final alongside four other acts will also be performing his song “Take My Time”.
Lithuania – Pabandom iš naujo – Heat One – 20:00 CET
Twelve artists are competing in the first heat of the Lithuanian selection process for Eurovision 2020.
Monika Marija and Gabrielius Vagelis are among the twelve artists competing in the first heat of Pabandom iš naujo this evening. The Lithuanian selection process has been revamped for 2020 with changes to the way in which the voting works, which is explained below.

The results in each round will be decided by a combination of in-studio jury voting (50%) and public voting (50%). The voting process for the jury has changed. The jury will no longer comment on all performances and will view the performances in a separate space outside the studio. In addition, the public vote will no longer be shown during the show, with the results only known at the end of the show.
