United Kingdom Wins OGAE Song Contest 2019

The United Kingdom has won the OGAE Song Contest 2019 with “Someone You Loved” by Lewis Capaldi. This is the United Kingdom’s sixth victory in the contest and ties them with Spain for the most victories in the history of the contest. Rest of the World (USA) finished second and France finished third.

The OGAE Song Contest is one of the contest held between the national branches of OGAE, the official fan club of the Eurovision Song Contest. Clubs can enter with an original song that was released within the last 12 months and sung in one of the country’s official languages. This year’s contest was organised by OGAE UK, after Steps’ victory in last year’s contest with “Scared of the Dark”.

  3. France: Vitta & Slimane – Je te le donne – 169 points
  4. Bulgaria: Poli Genova – Geroite – 86 points
  5. Ireland: Kodaline – Hide and Seek – 85 points
  6. Italy: Elisa – Anche Fragile – 79 points
  7. Sweden: Lena Philipsson – Maria Magdalena – 78 points
  8. Spain: Rosalía – Malamente – 78 points
  9. Belgium: Angèle – Balance ton quoi – 74 points
  10. Greece: Christos Mastoras – Den Eho Idea – 65 points
  11. Ukraine: The Hardkiss – Kohantsi – 60 points
  12. Germany: Revolverheld – Immer Noch Fühlen – 60 points
  13. Australia: Wafia – I’m Good – 53 points
  14. Finland: Lauri Tähkä – Palavaa vettä – 44 points
  15. North Macedonia: Antonia – Nikogas Ne Veli Nikogas – 43 points

Rest of the World, Latvia and Azerbaijan returned to the contest.  Rest of the World last competed in 2017, Latvia in 2015 and Azerbaijan in 2013. Norway, Denmark, Belarus and Slovenia withdrew from this year’s contest.
