The Russian Head of Delegation has confirmed that Channel One will use an internal selection process for Eurovision 2020.
Speaking on Instagram Yuri Aksyuta, Channel One will again be using an internal selection process for the Eurovision Song Contest in 2020. The broadcaster last held a televised selection process for the competition in 2012, and has opted for internal selections every year since.
Russia is one of a number of nations to confirm that in 2020 they will be using an internal selection process, others include:

Russia was represented by Sergey Lazarev for a second time at the 2019 contest. He performed the song “Scream” and finished third in the final with a total of 370 points, 6 points ahead of Switzerland.

Russia debuted in Eurovision in 1994 and has gone on to be one of the most successful countries in the contest. Since the mid-00s Russia has had a string of strong results including their first and only victory in 2008. Dima Bilan won the contest in Belgrade, Serbia with the song “Believe” taking the contest to Moscow in the following year.
