Ahead of next weeks Junior Eurovision Song Contest, Eurovoix.com talks to Joana Almeida from Portugal, who will sing “Vem comigo” (Come With Me).
What was your reaction when you found out that you would be representing Portugal at Junior Eurovision?
I was super excited! I couldn’t believe what was happening. It’s a dream come true.
Apart from singing, what are your hobbies?
I play piano and cello, I love to dance and love to read, to play with my friends and to play with my pets.
What does your song mean to you?
My song is an anthem for Mother Nature. I feel it’s a warning to all of us.
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve been given?
To enjoy, and to share the joy!
What is one thing about Portugal that you wish more people knew?
The best thing that Portugal has is how we love to receive people, to share our culture and our landscapes, and the region where I live (Serra da Estrela) has an amazing mountain in a geopark area classified by UNESCO this year that you should visit.
What are you most looking forward to about Junior Eurovision?
I wish to end in a good position but above all I love being here and to make more friends. I wish that my voice makes you happier!
