GPB has announced that Anastasia Garsevanishvili will be the Georgian spokesperson at Junior Eurovision 2019.
Anastasia Garsevanishvili will be the spokesperson for Georgia at the final of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2019 in Gliwice, Poland. Anastasia competed in Ranina, the nations selection process for Junior Eurovision, and finished third in this years competition.
All of the spokespersons will be live on stage at the Arena Gliwice, and will reveal the results of their respective nations juries. Each jury is formed of three adult music professionals, and two children.
Who is Giorgi Rostiashvili?
Giorgi was selected to represent Georgia in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2019 after winning Ranina back in May. Ranina has been used to select the Georgian representative at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest since 2018. The format sees young singers perform a variety of styles with Georgian singers and musical icons. He will be singing “We Need Love”.
Georgia has won the contest on three occasions, making them the country with the most victories throughout the history of the contest. Georgia debuted in JESC in 2007 with Mariam Romelashvili and her song “Odelia Ranuni”, where she placed 4th with 116 points. Their first win was just a year later in 2008, with the trio Bzikebi and their song “Bzz”. Their second win was in 2011 with the group Candy and their song “Candy Music”. Most recently in 2016, eleven-year-old Mariam Mamadashvili performed her song Mzeo in JESC 2016 host city Malta, and took the victory with 239 points.
