According to the songwriter behind “Armanyńnan qalma”, Yerzhan Maxim’s Junior Eurovision entry reflects the performers life.
Speaking ahead of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest, Khamit Shangaliyev, one of the songwriters behind this years Kazakh entry, has revealed the story behind the song.
According to Khamit, the song reflects Yerzhan Maxim’s own story to date. It reflects the story of Yerzhan starting from a young performer in rural Kazakhstan, to becoming a famous performer in both Kazakhstan and Russia to a real star. Khamit explained that Yerzhan made changes to the song.
Mr Shangaliyev, explained how “Armanyńnan qalma” was selected by Yerzhan:
Yerzhan liked this song. In the draft version, that is, in the demo version. There were other options. But he settled on this song. Said I want this song. I will sing it, I will perform it.
It is very important that the performer chooses the song himself. Do not impose. He can sing, but it will not be from the heart, not from love. And he just will not open
