The Czech Republic has confirmed their participation in Eurovision Young Musicians 2020 in Zagreb, Croatia.
Ceska Televize has confirmed to Eurofestivales, that the broadcaster will be participating in Eurovision Young Musicians 2020 in the Croatian capital, Zagreb. The Czech Republic brings the number of confirmed participants to four.
The Czech Republic debuted in Eurovision Young Musicians in 2002, with 2020 being their eighth appearance at the event. The Czech Republic has taken part in every contest since 2010, with their best result being a second place in 2016.
Indi Stivín was selected to represent the Czech Republic at Eurovision Young Musicians in 2018. He qualified from the semi-finals to the Grand Final and placed outside of the top two.
Eurovision Young Musicians 2020
The 20th installment of Eurovision Young Musicians will take place next year in the Croatian capital Zagreb. The competition is set to take place on an open-air stage in King Tomislav Square with the grand final on the June 21 2020. This will be the first Eurovision event to be held in an independent Croatia. The Eurovision Song Contest was held in Zagreb in 1990, when Croatia was part of Yugoslavia.

Eurovision Young Musicians has been held bi-annually since 1982. The contest was based on the format of The BBC Young Musician of the Year in the United Kingdom. Performers in the contest must be aged under 18 years and are selected by their participating broadcaster. Each performer performs a piece of classical music of their choice accompanied by the local orchestra. The winner is decided by a jury made up of classical music experts and talents.
