The Maltese entry for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2019, “We Are More”, has been released.
Eliana Gomez Blanco will perform “We Are More” at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2019 in Gliwice. The song features lyrics in both of the official languages of Malta; English and Maltese.
Eliana Gomez Blanco was chosen to represent Malta at Junior Eurovision after winning the Maltese national final in August. The 14 year old singer was chosen out of 12 finalists, who sang for votes from both the public, who made up 50%, and a jury panel, who made up the other 50% of the final outcome. On the jury were Claudia Faniello (Eurovision 2017), Ela Mangion (Junior Eurovision 2018), and Deo Grech. “We Are More” was then internally selected as the Maltese entry for Junior Eurovision 2019.
Who is Eliana Gomez Blanco?
Eliana is a fourteen year old singer who prides herself on participating in several international festivals. Last year she was a finalist in the Malta Junior Eurovision Song Contest, and also won Għanja Tal-Poplu Żgħażagħ in the same year.

Malta in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest
Malta debuted in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2003 and has gone on to win the contest twice. In 2013 on their return to the competition in Kyiv, Gaia Cauchi won the competition with “The Start”, she was the first winner of a Eurovision event for Malta. In 2015 Destiny Chukunyere took victory in Sofia, Bulgaria with the song “Not My Soul”. Malta finished last at the 2005 contest in Belgium with the song “Make It Right” performed by Thea & Friends.
