Marta Viola has been selected to represent Italy at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2019 with the song “La voce della terra” (The voice of the Earth).
RAI, has internally selected Marta Viola to represent Italy in Gliwice. The selection was done in collaboration with l’Antoniano di Bologna. Marta is from Chieri in Turin and is in her last year of primary school. She inherited her love for music, singing and dancing from her parents. Her favourite singer is Beyoncé. She currently studies singing, ballet, hip hop and modern dancing. Her other passions include drawing, make up and hair styling.
The song that Marta will sing in Gliwice, “La voce della terra”, was written by Franco Fasano and Marco Iardella and composed by Emilio Di Stefano and Fabrizio Palaferri. The official music video for the song was filmed in The Skyscraper in Turin.
Last year Italy was represented by Melissa and Marco with their song “What is Love”. They finished in 7th place with 151 points. Their best result to date is 1st place, which they accomplished with their debut entry “Tu primo grande amore” by Vincenzo Cantiello.

Italy in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest
Italy debuted in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2014. Their first and only win to date was on their debut, when Vincenzo Cantiello came in 1st place with 159 points with his song “Tu Primo Grande Amore”. Their worst result was in 2015 when twins Chiara & Martina came 16th with 34 points with their song “Viva”. Since their debut, Italy have participated in every contest.
