Eurovision Fun reports that three singers are currently in contention to represent Cyprus at the Eurovision Song Contest 2020.
In Cyprus, three singers are reportedly in the running to represent the nation at the 2020 contest in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. According to Eurovision Fun, the shortlist is formed of two male singers and one female singer.
Currently Cypriot and Greek media is speculating that the proffered artist is one of the two male singers. According to reports Ian Stratis and Vangelis Kakouriotis are the two male singers who are being considered by CyBC.
CyBC has opted to internally select the artist that represent them at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2020. Since 2016 the broadcaster has internally selected both their singer and song for the competition.
At the 2019 contest, Cyprus was represented by internally selected artist Tamta and her song “Replay”. She finished in 13th position in the Grand Final with 109 points.

Cyprus debuted in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1981. Their best result in the contest comes from their 2018 entrant Eleni Foureira, who placed 2nd with her song “Fuego”. Cyprus withdrew from the Eurovision Song Contest in 2014 due to financial difficulties, but returned again in 2015 where they were represented by John Karagiannis.
