Wales’ Junior Eurovision selection show will begin to air on September 3rd.
Chwilio am Seren, Wales’ search for their next Junior Eurovision entrant, is well underway, with the semi-finals being recorded last month. It has been revealed that the first episode will broadcast on September 3rd at 20:00 BST on S4C (and BBC iPlayer for UK viewers). The final is set to take place on September 24th at Venue Cymru, Llandudno.
Connie Fisher and Tara Bethan will both return as mentors. Joining them on the panel is Lloyd Macey. Lloyd first came to public attention after appearing on the fourteenth series of the X Factor in 2017. He was eliminated from the show one week before the final.
A total of 12 acts have been shortlisted after the mentoring stage to take part in the semi-finals in Swansea. These 12 acts will be cut in half to the final six who will compete in the final. The winner will be selected by a combination of industry expert voting and an audience vote.
Wales made their debut in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest last year in Belarus. Wales was represented by Manw and the song “Perta” on stage in Minsk, Belarus. They finished 20th in the final, scoring all of their 28 points from the online vote. Wales scored 0 points from the juries in each of the competing countries, alongside Portugal.
