Ana María Bordas, the Head of Delegation for Spain, has stated that it’s likely Spain will participate in Eurovision Young Musicians 2020.
Following Spain’s return to Eurovision Young Musicians in 2018, the Spanish Head of Delegation has stated it is very likely that the nation will participate again in 2020. Speaking to Eurovision Spain, Ms Bordas stated that no decision had been taken by the broadcaster yet, but that:
it is likely that we will participate in the next one
Ms Bordas confirmed that TVE is currently not interested in taking part in Eurovision Choir, which is taking place for the second time next month in Sweden.
The 20th installment of Eurovision Young Musicians in Zagreb, Croatia. The competition is set to take place on an open-air stage in King Tomislav Square with the grand final on the 21st of June 2020. The competition organised by broadcaster HRT has been scheduled in order for the event to coincide with Fête de la Musique or World Music Day, celebrating all genres of music being performed outdoors.
This event marks the first time Zagreb has hosted a Eurovision event since the Eurovision Song Contest back in 1990. However this is the first Eurovision event ever to be hosted by Croatia as back in 1990, Zagreb was located within Yugoslavia before the country dissolved.
Eurovision Young Musicians was last held in 2018, hosted by the BBC in Edinburgh, Scotland. The contest was won by pianist Ivan Bessonov for Russia.
