Patrick Leterme has been revealed as the Belgian commentator for next months Eurovision Choir contest in Gothenburg, Sweden.
Conductor, composer and choral leader Patrick Leterme will be guiding Belgian viewers through Eurovision Choir 2019. Patrick has worked for RTBF since 2013 and currently presents a number of shows on the radio station Musiq’3. Eurovision Choir 2019 will be broadcast live on La Trois, which is the cultural channel for RTBF. It will also be simulcast on radio via Musiq’3.
Almakalia, the Belgian entrants at Eurovision Choir 2019, will be showcasing the nations pop scene in Gothenburg. In the first round, Almakalia will perform a medley of hits from Belgian artists including Henri PFR, Tamino, Alice on the Roof, Hooverphonic, Mustii, Stromae, Typh Barrow and Puggy. Should Belgium make it through to the super final, they will perform Million Eyes by Loïc Nottet who represented Belgium at Eurovision 2015.
Eurovision Choir 2019 takes place on August 3 in Gothenburg, Sweden. The running order for the show is as follows:
- Sweden – Zero8
- Belgium – Almakalia
- Latvia – Koris Maska
- Germany – Bonnvoice
- Norway – Volve Vokal
- Denmark – Vocal Line
- Scotland – Alba
- Slovenia – Jazzva
- Switzerland – Cake O’Phonie
- Wales – Ysgol Gerdd Ceredigion
This years competition will see the debuts of Norway, Scotland, Sweden and Switzerland at the competition. For Scotland it will be the first time that the nation has made an appearance at a Eurovision contest, following in the footsteps of Wales who made their first appearance in 2017.
The show which will be held in Gothenburg will be hosted by Petroc Trelawny and Ella Petersson. Petroc hosted Eurovision Young Musicians 2018 when it was held in Edinburgh, while Ella is a TV host for SVT’s cultural programming.
