RTVS, the Slovak national broadcaster, has confirmed they will not be making their debut in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2019 in Poland.
Erika Rusnáková, press spokesperson for RTVS, confirmed that Slovakia will not take part in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest. This was in response to reports that the country would be making their debut appearance in the contest this year.
Slovakia had previously planned on participating in the first edition of Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2003 but budget problems prevented the country from taking part. Slovakia’s last participation in a Eurovision event was in Eurovision Young Dancers in 2015.
The 2019 Junior Eurovision Song Contest will be held on Sunday 24th November in Gliwice, Poland. To date, eleven countries have expressed their interest in participating in the contest:

Although they have not yet confirmed, it is expected that these countries will confirm this year due to their attendance at the Reference Group meeting:
