Moldova will not be participating in this year’s Junior Eurovision Song Contest in Poland.
Moldovan broadcaster Teleradio Moldova has confirmed to Eurovoix that they will not be returning to the Junior Eurovision Song Contest this year. Moldova made their debut in Junior Eurovision when the competition was first held in Belarus in 2010. They went on to participate in the competition four times before withdrawing from the contest in 2014.
Moldova’s best result came in 2011 when Lerika represented the nation in Yerevan, Armenia. She performed the song “No, No” and finished 6th with a total of 78 points. The nations worst result came in 2013 when Rafael Bobeica sang “Cum să fim”, he finished 11th with 41 points.
The 2019 Junior Eurovision Song Contest will be held on Sunday 24th November in Gliwice, Poland. To date, eleven countries have expressed their interest in participating in the contest:
