With the 26 finalists now known, the Netherlands now sit on a 44% chance of winning the Eurovision Song Contest 2019.
Duncan Laurence of the Netherlands has strengthened his victory chances following the second semi-final and now sits on a 44% chance of winning come Saturday night. The Netherlands has been the favourite to win this years contest since the 9th of March, with no other country coming close to passing it in the odds for over two months.
One nation that saw itself rebound last night was Switzerland and their song “She Got Me”. The nation had been all but written off from winning having fallen down to 9th in the odds, but rebounded up to 4th place after the show and the running order draw was announced.
Australia is the biggest odds twist of the past two weeks. Kate Miller-Heidke is now second favourite to take victory with a 12% chance of winning. The singer who performs “Zero Gravity” was seen as a longshot of taking victory just two weeks ago when she was 16th favourite, but is now the Netherlands closest challenger.
