Madonna arrived in Tel Aviv late last night, however her Eurovision contract has still not been signed due to safety agreements.
The singer has begun rehearsing for her appearance at the Grand Final of the Eurovision Song Contest, however Executive Supervisor Jon Ola Sand has said that the contract still hasn’t been signed due to safety agreements.
“We would love to welcome her on stage, but in order for this to be possible, we must have a framework for safety”.
Head of Production Ola Melzig has confirmed to Expressen that the performance will take place however, and stated that:
“There are two songs, one old and one new. It will be very cool and very big”.
Lots of security has been put in place around Madonna, including the installation of a new warehouse with its own catering and dressing rooms. The singer has brought a 135 person strong team to the Eurovision Song Contest, as well as 30 tonnes of equipment for her performance.
Among the items brought to Israel are 25 professional dancers to accompany the performance of the singer, 40 backing singers , a director, choreographer and animators. For her performance Madonna is reported to have brought additional equipment that needs to be installed on stage.
Srugim states that the singer has brought 70 steps and a special elevator that will be built and integrated in the Eurovision stage. As well as projection equipment, lighting, sound and holograms. An additional compound at the Expo Tel Aviv is being constructed to house the equipment and rehearsal space required for the singer.
