DR has revealed the team that will be joining Leonora on stage at the Eurovision Song Contest 2019 in Tel Aviv, Israel.
Leonora will be joined by two dancers and three backing singers for her performance of “Love is Forever” at Eurovision. Ryan Jacolbe and Sinan Spahi will be joining the singer on stage as the dancers. While the following three singers will be joining as backing singers:
- Andrea Heick Gadeberg – Stared in Sanne – The Musical
- Jeanette Bonde – Competed in Dansk Melodi Grand Prix 2016 with “Hurricane”
- Sofie Niebuhr McQueen
DR has also confirmed that Ole Tøpholm will be the Danish commentator for all three of this years shows. Ole Tøpholm has commentated on every Eurovision Song Contest for Denmark since 2011.
Who is Leonora?
20-year-old Leonora will be representing Denmark at the Eurovision Song Contest. Leonora is a person with many talents, she is a triple Danish Championship title holder in figure skating, and she has participated in both the Junior World Championship and Nordic Championship.
Outside the world of sport, she decided at the age of 15 to focus on music instead, playing guitar and writing her own songs. She was then approached by Lise Cabble to perform “Love is Forever” and won the Danish selection.
Denmark debuted in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1957 alongside Austria and the United Kingdom. To date Denmark has won the contest on three occasions, the first being in 1963 when Grethe & Jorgen Ingmann performed “Dansevise”. Denmark won the contest again in 2000 represented by the Olsen Brothers, their most recent victory came in 2013 when Emmelie de Forest performed “Only Teardrops”. Denmark failed to qualify for the final of the Eurovision Song Contest in 2015 and 2016.
