D Mol have given their last press apperance before representing Montenegro at the Eurovision Song Contest 2019 in Israel.
D Mol are in positive spirits ahead of this years Eurovision Song Contest, with the group of friends hoping to do their country proud in Israel. The group took part in a press conference hosted by RTCG today, and expressed their excitement at the contest now being just days away.
Dejan Božović who is one of the songwriters behind the nation’s entry “Heaven” explained why the song underwent changes for Eurovision:
We wanted to pack this ethnic sound into more modern packaging. I think we did what we wanted. I hope the song will give a good impression at Eurovision
As previously revealed Gorčin Stojanović is behind the staging of this years Montenegrin entry. Mr Stojanović was behind the staging of Serbia’s winning performance at the Eurovision Song Contest 2007. He also staged the performances of Bosnia & Herzegovina in 2010 and Serbia in 2010. The performance has been choreographed by Staša Stojanović, while Olivera Čolović is the stylist.
Who are D Mol?
D Mol is formed of six members; Tamara Vujačić, Mirela Ljumić, Ivana Obradović, Rizo Feratović and Željko Vukčević. The group topped the first round of Montevizija, becoming one of two acts competing in the super final. They went on to win in the super final with 68% of the public vote.
Montenegro debuted at the Eurovision Song Contest as an independent country in 2007, and participated until 2010 when they withdrew for financial reasons. They returned to the contest in 2012, and since then have always chosen their entry internally. Montenegro failed to qualify for the grand final until 2014, when Sergej Ćetković and his song “Moj svijet” placed 19th in the final. Their best result came a year later, when Knez performed “Adio” in Vienna. They have never reached the top 10, with Knez reaching 13th out of 27 countries.
