Sylvan Adams the billionaire who is trying to get Madonna to perform at Eurovision 2019 has said that talks are progressing well.
Speaking at the Keshet INTV Conference in Jerusalem, Sylvan Adams has commented on the discussions about Madonna performing at Eurovision 2019. The billionaire explained that:
We’ve reached out to Madonna to try to add a little bit of glitz to the event
Going on to add:
It’s looking very good that she’s going to come here and participate in the Eurovision Song Contest.
The appearance of Madonna at Eurovision is reported to cover over $1 million, and is being financed by Sylvan Adams himself. The billionaire views his role as a promoter of Israel on the international stage and bringing positive coverage to the nation. Mr Adams previously secured a stage of the Giro d’Italia, which saw the cycling event come to Israel for the first time.
Madonna’s fee is not something that the host broadcaster KAN would have been able to fund itself. The broadcaster has a limited budget for the contest in May, that has had to be funded by a loan.
Tel Aviv will host the Eurovision Song Contest 2019 in the Expo Tel Aviv (International Convention Centre) on May 14, 16 and 18 2019. After receiving bids from several cities across Israel, the final two remaining candidate cities were Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. KAN recommended Tel Aviv to the Reference Group.
