Just over 337,000 viewers tuned in to Duna on Saturday night to watch the final of Hungary’s Eurovision selection show.
A total of 337,307 people watched as the final of A Dal 2019 aired on Duna. The final had a viewing share of 10.7%, with the viewing figure increasing by over 45,000 compared to last week’s second semi-final. The show was the 19th most watched program last week.
The final of A Dal 2019 was won by Joci Pápai and his song “Az én apám”, who is no stranger to the Eurovision Song Contest as he placed 8th for Hungary in 2017 with “Origo”.

- Bogi Nagy – Holnap – Superfinalist
- Fatal Error – Kulcs – 6th place
- Gergő Oláh – Hozzád bújnék – 8th place
- Gergő Szekér – Madár, repülj! – 5th place
- Joci Pápai – Az én apám – Superfinalist
- The Middletonz – Roses – 7th place
Freddie, the singer who represented Hungary at the 2016 contest, returned as host this year alongside Bogi Dallos. Miklós Both and Misi Mező returned as jury members while Lilla Vincze and Feró Nagy joined the jury.

Hungary debuted in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1994, they were represented by Friderika Bayer and the song “Kinek mondjam el vetkeimet”. She went on to finish in 4th place scoring a total of 122 points and four sets of 12 points. This result remains’ Hungary’s best in their history in the contest. Hungary participated from 1994 to 1994 before withdrawing until 2005, the country didn’t return again until 2008. Hungary then once again withdrew in 2010 before returning in 2011. Since their return in 2011 Hungary has qualified for the final every year.
