Of note is that Jurijus’ song will need to be investigated by the European Broadcasting Union to ensure that it is eligible to compete in Tel Aviv. The singer was under investigation by LRT after “Run With The Lions” was found to have been available online in a demo format in March 2018. LRT asked the EBU to rule on the matter, but stated it would only investigate the issue if Jurijus won the selection.
The winner of „Eurovizijos“ dainų konkurso nacionalinė atranka was selected by 50% televoting and 50% jury voting. Heading in to the show tonight Monika Marija and Jurijus were the favourites to win, with each artist having won their respective semi-finals. Jurijus received the maximum 12 points from both the public and the jury.
Lithuania debuted in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1994, however on their debut they finished in last place with nul points.
