Czech Republic: Elina Nechayeva and AWS Reveal Their Eurovision Song CZ 2019 12 Points

The fifth and sixth results of the jury voting for ESCZ 2019 have been revealed this evening.

The 12 points in the Czech selection are being revealed this week, with 10 jurors revealing their top score in the voting. The results are to be revealed at 18:00 CET and 20:00 CET every evening this week excluding Saturday, before the winner of the selection is announced on January 28.

The fifth jurors to announce their points are AWS, who represented Hungary at the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest with their song “Viszlát Nyár”. Their 12 points go to Andrea Holá with her song “Give Me A Hint”.

And the sixth juror to announce their points is Elina Nechayeva from Estonia, who represented the country in the 2018 contest with “La Forza”. Her 12 points go to Lake Malawi and his song “Friend of a Friend”.

After six juries have voted, Barbora Mochowa is still in the lead. The full results so far are:

Mikolas Josef was selected to represent the Czech Republic in Lisbon, Portugal after winning Eurovision Song CZ, the first Czech national selection since the country’s return to the Eurovision Song Contest in 2015. He performed the song “Lie to Me” and finished 6th in the final with 281 points. This was only the Czech Republic’s second final appearance and their best finish ever in the contest.

The Czech Republic debuted in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2007 with the band Kabát and the song “Malá dáma”, they finished last in the semi-final scoring just 1 point from Estonia. The country went on to participate for a further two years before withdrawing from the contest after the 2009 edition in Moscow where Gipsy.cz scored nul points. In 2016 the Czech Republic qualified for their first final, Gabriela Gunčíková finished 25th in the final with the song “I Stand”.
