Spain: Miki Has Begun Work on His Debut Album

Fresh from his victory in the Spanish selection for Eurovision 2019, Miki has revealed that he is working on his debut album.

Miki is currently working on his debut album, having been selected as the Spanish entrant for the Eurovision Song Contest 2019. Miki is working with Alfred García, Nil Molines and Arnau Griso. Alfred represented Spain at the Eurovision Song Contest 2018 alongside Amaia. A date for the albums release has not been revealed, however it expected to be around the final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2019.

Miki won the Operación Triunfo Eurovisión Gala with the song “La venda”. He received 34% of the public vote, beating running up María by 12% of the vote.

Who is Miki?

Miki, whose full name is Miguel Núñez Pozo, is representing Spain at the Eurovision Song Contest 2019 in Tel Aviv. He participated in Operación Triunfo, where he finished 6th in the semi-finals of the competition.

He was one of the thirteen singers selected to take part in the Spanish national final from the show. He had two songs qualify for the final of the contest; “Nadie se salva” and “La venda”. It was with “La venda” that he was selected as the Spanish participant.

Spain debuted in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1961 and has competed annually since. Spain has won the contest on two occasions the first being in 1968 and the second time in 1969. 1969 is the only year where more than one song has won the contest, the 1969 contest saw a four-way tie between Spain, France, the United Kingdom and the Netherlands. Since 2000 Spain has only managed to finish in the top.10 on five occasions, the last time being in 2014 with Ruth Lorenzo. However, the country has finished 20th or below on nine occasions, the worst placement being 26th in 2017.

  1. What I understood in the press conference is that he had started composing songs but without having a contract with Universal. He still did not know if the agreement with the record company would contemplate only a single and / or a complete album
