Monika Marija will be competing with two songs in Eurovizijos, revealing “Light On” as her second entry for Eurovision 2019.
Monika Marija, one of the favourites to represent Lithuania at the Eurovision Song Contest 2019, has revealed today her second entry in the nations search for Tel Aviv. Monika had previously been competing with “Criminal”, but will now also compete with the song “Light On”.
Speaking to LRT, Monika Marija explained her thought process regarding the song;
When we picked a song for Eurovision, I felt that my heart was leaning toward Criminal, that it was my element. However, it is difficult to make such a decision until you have the song on the stage until it is live. After the album’s concerts, I felt great support and desire to hear Light On on the Eurovision stage, and my listeners are always in the first place,
LRT also revealed a further three acts competing in the Lithuanian selection process for Eurovision 2019, bringing the number of competing artists to 52. The additional acts and their songs are:
- Sasha Song & Dovilė – Bad Boy
- 120 – (Song title not known, song will be performed entirely in Lithuanian)
- Linas Jakštys – Criminal Love
The Lithuanian selection process for Eurovision 2019 continues this weekend with the second heat.
