Elton John and Coldplay are among the international stars being considered as an interval act for the Eurovision Song Contest 2019.
The Keshet program “Chay balaylah” reports that the Israeli broadcaster KAN is working to secure a major international name as an interval act for the Eurovision Song Contest 2019. Among the artists being considered according to Israeli media are Elton John and Coldplay.
International stars have taken to the stage of the Eurovision Song Contest as interval acts in recent years. In 2016 Justin Timberlake performed on stage in Stockholm. Of note is that Elton John once provided a live link to the Life Ball in Vienna during the 2003 contest.
The international star would also compliment the existing line up of Israeli talent that is expected to take part in the show. Eurovision winners Netta and Dana International are expected to perform, as well as Omer Adam.
Tel Aviv will host the Eurovision Song Contest 2019 in the Expo Tel Aviv (International Convention Centre) on May 14, 16 and 18 2019. After receiving bids from several cities across Israel, the final two remaining candidate cities were Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. KAN recommended Tel Aviv to the Reference Group.
