The third edition of the Madrid Eurovision Pre-Party will take place on April 19th and 20th 2019 in the Spanish capital.
The organisers of the event, eurovision-spain.com, has revealed that the both the Welcome Pre-Party and the main concert will take place at Sala La Riviera next year. It is expected that 20 countries and multiple guests will attend the event, which will also commemorate the 50th anniversary of when Spain hosted the Eurovision Song Contest. The slogan for the event is “El Ritmo Que Nos Une”, which translates to “The Rhythm Which Unites Us”. Tickets will go on sale at 12:00 CET on Wednesday 19th December, and are available to purchase here.
The 2018 edition of the Spanish Pre-Party featured twenty-one artists from across Europe, as well as special guests Manel Navarro (Spain 2017), Lucía Pérez (Spain 2011), Filipa Sousa (Portugal 2012), and Susanne Georgia (Andorra 2009). Presenting the show was Soraya, who represented the country at the Eurovision Song Contest in Moscow 2009. Fellow Operación Triunfo alumni and the 2018 Spanish representatives were also hosts for the various international delegations attending.
The ESPre-Party was held for the first time in 2017 and was deemed a huge success. It was granted “Official Related Event” status by the EBU, giving it the same status as the Eurovision preview concerts held in Amsterdam, London, Riga, Moscow and Tel Aviv. This made the event the first official Eurovision Song Contest related event to be held in Spain since the contest was hosted in Madrid in 1969.
