A total of 20,342 viewers watched on S4C as Wales made their first appearance at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest on November 25.
Just over 20,000 viewers watched on November 25 as Wales made their debut in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest. The broadcast was watched by a total of 20,342 viewers and was the 9th most watched show broadcast by the Welsh channel during the week. The breakdown of viewers was as follows:
- 20,200 viewers – S4C Television broadcast
- 72 viewers – S4C live stream on PC or Laptop
- 26 viewers – S4C live stream on Mobile phone
Of note is that it was the second most watched program broadcast by S4C during that weekend, only beaten on Sunday by live Rugby which brought in 27,000 viewers.
Wales was represented by Manw and the song “Perta” on stage in Minsk, Belarus. They finished 20th in the final, scoring all of their 28 points from the online vote. Wales scored 0 points from the juries in each of the competing countries, alongside Portugal.
Who is Manw?
Manw Lili Robin was born in 2005 in Rhosgadfan, Wales. Active in the singing industry since 2014, Manw is no stranger to competitions, having performed at the National Eisteddfod of Wales and Urdd National Eisteddfod on numerous occasions. In 2014, she was featured in the Welsh version of the film “The Secret of Kells”, where she played the part of Awen. The young singer currently attends Ysgol Glanaethwy, a drama school in Bangor.
