Mark Vincent and Ricki-Lee Coulter are rumored to be participating in Australia’s Eurovision selection process ‘Australia Decides’.
SBS has released its first teaser of who the participants in Eurovision – Australia Decides are. According to eagle eyed viewers of the teaser video two of the singers featured in the snippet are Mark Vincent and Ricki-Lee Coulter.
Mark Vincent was the winner of the third season of Australia’s Got Talent, he has gone on to release seven studio albums. During this time he has had four top ten albums and is one of the most successful tenors in Australia.
Ricki-Lee Coulter is a singer, songwriter and television presenter, who was born in New Zealand but grew up in Gold Coast. She participated in the second season of Australian Idol, since 2004 she has released four studio albums and had five no.1 singles. She has reportedly been on the wishlist for SBS and Blink TV at Eurovision for a number of years.
Eurovision – Australia Decides is set to take place on February 8 and 9 in Gold Coast. The selection show will take place over two days, with live performances broadcast on February 8 and 9, with a live voting show broadcast on February 9. The show is set to be hosted by Myf Warhurst and Joel Creasey, who have been Australia’s commentators at the contest since 2017.
Jessica Mauboy represented Australia this year in Lisbon with “We Got Love”. She finished 20th in the final with 99 points. This was the first time that Australia did not finish in the top 10 in the final.
Australia debuted in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2015 as part of celebrations marking 60 years of the Eurovision Song Contest. The broadcaster SBS has broadcast Eurovision in Australia since 1983. Australia’s best result to date came in 2016 Australia when Dami Im, with the song “Sound of Silence,” finished in 2nd place in the final scoring 511 points, just 23 points away from victory.
