A total of 1.16 million viewers watched in France as the nation had their best result in a Eurovision Contest since 1991.
Over 1 million viewers watched on France 2 yesterday evening as Angélina finished 2nd in the final of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2018. A total of 1.16 million viewers watched the competition live from Minsk, Belarus with the contest recording an audience share of 8.4%. The audience that tuned in for the competition was near to the average that the slot normally receives.
France returned to the competition after a 14 year break represented by Angélina and “Jamais sans toi”. She scored a total of 203 points, France placed 6th with the juries on 86 points and 2nd in the online vote with 117 points.
Madame Monsieur who represented France at the Eurovision Song Contest 2018, joined Stéphane Bern as commentators as France returns to the Junior Eurovision Song Contest. France previously only participated in the contest once in 2004 when Thomas Pontier finished 6th in Lillehammar.
Who is Angélina?
Ten-year-old Angélina Nava was born on 4th November 2007 in La Ciotat, France. Angélina has been singing since she was six, performing in numerous musicals and competitions since. At just nine-years-old, she won the 2017 edition of The Voice Kids in France. Outside of singing, she enjoys dancing, piano and comedy.
Angélina was internally selected to represent France on their return to the Junior Eurovision Song Contest this year. She performed the bilingual song “Jamais sans toi”, which translates to “Never without you”.
