Federica Carta and Mario Acampa have been revealed as the commentators for Rai Gulp at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2018.
Federica Carta and Mario Acampa will be guiding Italian viewers through the final of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2018 in Minsk, Belarus. Federica Carta has been a singer since 2017 and has released two albums, she currently presents Top Music on Rai Gulp. This will be the first time that Federica has commentated on the competition.
Joining Federica will be Mario Acampa, this is the second year that Mario has provided commentary for the contest. Mario Acampa is known as an actor and and performer, in recent years he has presented a number of shows on RAI Gulp.
Who are Melissa and Marco?
Fourteen-year-old Marco Boni is from Abruzzo, Italy, and ten-year-old Melissa di Pasca is from Alassio. Marco attended “Musicomania” school in Avezzano, and has been recently attending the Italian Academy of Performing Arts in Rome. On top of this, Marco has won over 26 international competitions, including Sanremo Junior.
Melissa has also performed on many stages and shows in her career. Her most notable performance is at VB Factor Kids, an Italian musical competition.
In October it was revealed that the duo would represent Italy at the upcoming Junior Eurovision Song Contest with their song “What is Love”. The duo travelled to Venice to shoot the video for their song.
Italy debuted in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2014. Their first and only win to date was on their debut, when Vincenzo Cantiello came in 1st place with 159 points with his song “Tu Primo Grande Amore”. Their worst result was in 2015 when twins Chiara & Martina came 16th with 34 points with their song “Viva”. Since their debut, Italy have participated in every contest.
