Training of the 80 volunteers who will assist with Junior Eurovision 2018 is now underway in Minsk, Belarus.
80 volunteers are undergoing training ahead of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in Belarus. Training is being carried out by the Belarusian Republican Youth Union Organisation. The organisation has been involved in the recruitment of volunteers since the start of the process, when they interviewed over 300 applicants, before recommending the final 80 to host broadcaster BTRC.
The volunteers will play an important role in the contest;
They will seat the guests, control the order during the dress rehearsal on November 24 and the contest itself on November 25, will help in the fan zone and the greenroom, work with disabled children who will come to the contest.
The 2018 edition of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest will be held in Minsk, Belarus after the country won the bidding process before the 2017 contest even began. Olga Salamankha explained that Belarus was selected as the host for next years contest over other bids due to their long-term commitment to the competition.
Twenty countries will take part in this years contest on November 25. These are:
- Azerbaijan – Returning nation
- France – Returning nation
- FYR Macedonia
- Israel – Returning nation
- Kazakhstan – Debut
- The Netherlands
- Wales – Debut
